Vacuum Metalizing

Vacuum Metalizing is used for a variety of reasons. Some are utilitarian (headlight housings, taillight housings, etc.) and some are decorative (hood ornaments, interior trim, etc.). Frequently selective masking is required for these applications.

Here are a few pictures of masking that would be used in a utilitarian manner. Most of these masks work in a Stokes, Galileo, VTI or Leybold vacuum chamber and keep metalizing from specific areas for a variety of reasons.  Some metalizing masking is used to keep material out of a glue channel of weld bead.  Others are used for decorative purposes.  Still some use metalizing for RFI/EMI shielding. If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact us.  (Request for Information)
